The ninth conference of the International Association of Language Commissioners (IALC) will take place in Galway, Ireland, from 8 to 10 September 2026. The conference will offer IALC members the opportunity to discuss and share information on key issues facing language rights globally and to explore effective ways to address them. Key topics will include aligning public service delivery models with the needs of minority-language communities; Language Standards and the Active Offer;  strengthening Irish-language rights through commercial advertising; and language rights in the European Union, from national recognition to EU-level engagement.
